"Helping Others To Help Themselves"

What does El Shaddai mean?

El Shaddai is an ancient name of God meaning “the mighty”.  By the name or in the character of El-Shaddai, the patriarchs in Genesis 17:1 knew Him and referenced Him as “God Almighty”.

What is the purpose of this ministry?

To walk through the valley of dry bones and reach the youth through counseling.

Ezekiel 37: 4-5 “ Again He said to me, “Prophesy to these bones, and say to them, O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord.  Thus said the Lord God to these bones; surely I will cause breath to enter into you, and you shall live.

       I.                Testimony (Ezek. 37:6)

“I will put sinews on you and bring flesh upon you, cover you with skin and put breath in you; and you shall live.  Then you shall know that I am the Lord.”
So many times we encounter people who have not had the maximized opportunity to establish goals and work towards on them.  Our educational and career accomplishments are sought after only to bring God glory on this earth.  It is your testimony that often gives others the hope and motivation they need to accomplish their goals.  I believe without testimony individuals get the glory.  With testimony it is our Lord and Savior who is glorified.

II.               Plant Seed (Ezek. 37:9)

“Also He said to me, “Prophesy to the breath, prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath, Thus said the Lord God; Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe on these slain, that they may live.”
The bible speaks about parables in which farmers plant seeds and expect to reap the harvest.  We are birthed into this life with an environment full of planted seeds.  Some of these seeds are pleasant when they harvest, many other seeds are harmful yet accepted by us believers.  These harmful seeds may not be uprooted.  In fact we are responsible for planting more pleasant seeds.

III.           Encourage (Ezek. 37:12-13)

“ Therefore prophesy and say to them, Thus says the Lord God: Behold, O My people, I will open your graves and cause you to come up from your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel.  Then you will know that I am the Lord when I have opened your graves, O My people, and brought you up from your graves.
The psalmist David wrote about us believers being “fearfully” and “wonderfully” made.  As plain as it is for us to read, this may be very hard for many of us to believe.  When we are encouraged about the charge that God has set on our lives this motivates us.  In counseling theorist believe that setting goals in session creates a path to work towards.  In the word of God, the Holy Spirit leads us to believe that God has already created a path for us to work towards.

IV.            Togetherness (Ezek. 37:19)

“ Say to them, Thus says the Lord God: Surely I will take the stick of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel, his companions; and I will join them with it, with the stick of Judah, and make them one stick and they will be one in My hand.”
An old adage says that it takes every finger to make a mighty fist.  The word of God says that there are many parts to the body and each part is needed to have their own special place within its existence.  Some say it takes a community to build a nation, people to make a community, and a group of believers to make up His people.  I believe that we are His people challenged to develop togetherness through fellowship.  For we bring our testimony only to plant seeds and encourage our youth to “do all things through Christ who strengthens us”.
