El Shaddai Counseling &
Consultation Services has moved to 105 E. Front St., No. 204, from its
previous location in Detroit.
Victoria Brown, chief executive officer, said she’s developed a keen
interest in working with youth in the community and that prompted the move.
She has had five years of experience working in the community.
El Shaddai provides a range of counseling services for youth, young adults
and their families. It operates Project THINK, a program for girls that
addresses issues related to violence such as substance abuse, anger
management and mentorship. It also provides Prevention CAMP, a program
focusing on substance abuse prevention. El Shaddai is licensed as a
substance abuse prevention agency.
It also provides a range of individual and group counseling and education
services, including grant-writing assistance and small business consulting.
Ms. Brown has an associate’s degree in psychology from Delta College,
Saginaw. She has bachelor degrees in psychology and African American Studies
from Eastern Michigan University, where she also received a master’s degree
in counseling. She also has an educational specialist degree in school
counseling and supervision from Wayne State University.
Program assistant at her agency is Jodette Rose.
Hours for the counseling service are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through
Thursday or by appointment.
