Earth Day In Monroe - April 25, 2009 Monroe County Celebrates Earth Day 2009 on April 25th at Loranger Square in Monroe from 10 am - 2pm. Monroe - Celebrate, Discover, Learn is a unique opportunity for Monroe County families to learn about environmental issues and actions they can take to restore and protect the Earth. Activities planned for the fair are free and include refreshments, prize drawings, educational exhibits and crafts for children. The Earth Day celebration is sponsored by the Monroe County Solid Waste Program and the Sisters Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary with support from the County of Monroe, the City of Monroe, DTE Energy, Neon Goldfish Marketing Solutions, and Walmart.
